Physical needs
Development is complete early in adulthood. Your physical health starts to decline early but at first it is too gradual to notice. An important part of physical development for women near the end of this life stage is menopause, when a woman is between the age of 45-55 their periods stop because of hormonal changes; this means that the woman can no longer conceive a child. Some women feel a sense of loss when this happens and may suffer from depression.
Intellectual needs
Through adulthood involves getting a job and learning new skill. Many skills are needed when a person leaves home and has to live independently. This might include cooking and having to learn to manage money, a budget and a home. As adults age their reactions are slower and they find it more difficult to remember things when they are put under pressure.
Emotional needs
behaving in a mature manor and controlling the way they respond to others emotions and what they are feeling. When we leave home we have to be independent and self reliant in order to be able to cope.

The jobs adults do are important part of their identity& self concept. A person may feel very proud that they have got a job and that they are achieving a lot having that job and if they don’t like the job and don’t feel good about it then they are going to think that they are a failure to themselves and their family.

Social needs
When adults leave home they have to develop new types of relationships, they might have to move in with strangers and learn that they have to accept people or they might move in with a partner and get married. This all means that they have to make decisions and accept responsibility. This also may mean that their relationship with their parents may change because they have got a family of their own.
Starting a job means developing skills that enable you to have formal relationships, friends are an example of this, and they could be casual or social relationships.
