Maslow's pyramid of needs
In terms of the pyramid, Maslow believes that all teenagers will be getting all the physiological needs that they need in order to move on to the safety and security teenagers often feel safe and secure with their family and with their friends in school and outside of school, this means that teenagers will be moving onto the next stage of development which is love and belonging they may find a relationship that they feel like they can tell that person everything and they may feel like they can tell their parents what is going on because they have a close bond with them. This isn't the case for many teenagers they rely on their friends to help them in situations and their friends being with them can help them move onto the next stage of the pyramid Self-Esteem this means that they are almost reaching the top of the pyramid but they are also feeling really good about themselves. When a teenager has reached self actualization they become more aware of things that are happening and they start and decide who they want to talk to.
