Maslow's Hierarchy of needs
By the time a child is 4 years of age they should be getting their physical and safety needs met they will start to form friendships with others that are outside of the family circle. This means that the child is learning the social skills that they need in other to pass the love and belonging stage in Maslow's pyramid. In order for a child to achieve self actualization means that they need to to be confident when talking to others and they also need to understand that they are different from others and that they should always respect others as everyone is equal.
